Holiday Lights 2026: Displays, Drive-Throughs and Zoo Lights

Holiday light displays turn parks, botanical gardens, zoos, farms and speedways into after-dark outings from late November into early January. Some are walk-through trails with light tunnels and glowing sculptures. Others are drive-through routes you see from your own car, and zoo lights add animal-shaped displays to an evening at the zoo.

Most displays run on set nights for several weeks, and many use timed entry, so popular December weekends can sell out. Pick your night first, then look at how tickets work, how long the route takes, and whether strollers or pets are allowed. Weeknights early in the season tend to be the calmest.

A practical tip for drive-throughs: arrive with a full tank and a clean windshield, and if the event posts a radio station, tune in so you hear the music that goes with the lights.

Dates can change, so check the event’s website before you go.
