Virginia Events This Weekend: October 30–November 1, 2026

19 Virginia listings have dates that overlap Friday through Sunday, October 30–November 1, 2026. 3 are fairs, festivals, and one-day events, and the other 16 are longer seasons that are open during part of the weekend.

Virginia’s fall calendar starts at the farm gate. Belvedere Plantation near Fredericksburg is a grain and pumpkin farm more than 260 years old, Cox Farms in Centreville builds its festival around a hayride and giant slides, and Sinkland Farms in Christiansburg began as a dairy in the New River Valley. Blue Ridge Mountain Maze sits on cider grounds in Roseland, the Crab Orchard Museum in Tazewell runs its own corn maze and pumpkin patch, and in Bluemont, Henway Hard Cider keeps one maze for grown-ups only.

Some October weekends centered on one big gathering. The Blue Ridge Folklife Festival brought musicians, mule jumpers and coon dog racers to Ferrum College, the Virginia Film Festival screened more than 100 films in Charlottesville, and the Marine Corps Marathon ran through Arlington. Menokin lit a pumpkin trail in Warsaw on the Northern Neck, and Garden Glow fills Maymont in Richmond after dark.

The nights belong to the haunts: Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Halloween Haunt at Kings Dominion and Fields of Fear at Cox Farms. Howl-O-Scream says it isn’t a fit for young children.

History carries the season forward. The Virginia Thanksgiving Festival at Berkeley Plantation marks the 1619 landing there, the Urbanna Oyster Festival takes over a town of 500, and Colonial Williamsburg holds a Veterans Day procession. Then the lights take over, from the Garden of Lights at Norfolk Botanical Garden to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens and the Grand Illumination in Williamsburg.
