About this event
Evergy Festival of Lights turns Powell Gardens, Kansas City's botanical garden, into a winter wonderland along a lighted outdoor path. Inside the glass Conservatory, the Winter Holiday Train winds through a miniature mountain village of tiny cabins, frosted evergreens and snowy peaks, and the Garden Galleries host a themed warming station. The garden itself traces back to 1948, when Kansas City businessman George E. Powell Sr. acquired the land, and today more than 175 acres are open to the public.
Our take: Warm up at the Grand Hall Bar + Bites in the Visitor Center, where the hot chocolate and cider come with spiking options.
