About this event
Canopy of Lights is one of Bloomington's winter traditions: Santa flips the switch and thousands of lights cover the Monroe County Courthouse and the ground around it, a scene the hosts compare to a Hallmark Christmas movie. Local music groups perform, the crowd sings Christmas songs, and families can drop letters to Santa in the atrium of Fountain Square. Downtown businesses stay open during the ceremony along the Square and Kirkwood Avenue.
Our take: Drop a letter to Santa in the Fountain Square atrium, then walk Kirkwood while the courthouse lights are on.
