About this event

Zoolights is a walk through more than 1.5 million lights at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma. Named displays include a giant Pacific octopus, the Narrows Bridges, the Flame Tree, a Seahawks tree, and a tunnel of lights, plus a Sasquatch hunt. Thomas Dambo's trolls Boge, Poppy, and Birch are on the route, though not every troll is viewable at night. Aquariums are closed and most animals are asleep during Zoolights. Plaza Cafe and outside stands sell soups, pizza, burgers, snacks, and drinks. The zoo notes that rain makes the paths shimmer.

Our take: Come on a rainy night if you want the paths shimmering, and hunt for Sasquatch on the way through the light tunnel.
