About this event
Auburn has hosted its Veterans Parade & Observance since 1965, and it has grown into one of the largest parades of its kind in the United States. The parade typically boasts over 120 units and nearly 4,000 participants, including more than 10 marching bands, numerous military vehicles, veterans' units and honor guards, traveling west along Main Street from E Street to A Street. The day opens with an American Legion community breakfast of pancakes, eggs and ham at the Auburn Senior Activity Center and a Remembrance Ceremony and Lighting of the Flame at Veterans Memorial Park, with wreath placement, rifle salute, prayers and taps.
Our take: Get downtown in time for the 9:45 a.m. Remembrance Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, which comes before the 11 a.m. parade.
Parking
Auburn Transit Center Parking Garage, one block from the end of the parade route; street parking west of Auburn Way.
