Electric Safari at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Electric Safari has lit up Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for more than three decades, filling the mountainside zoo with over 85 one-of-a-kind light sculptures and larger-than-life illuminated inflatable animals. Select exhibits stay open after dark, including the giraffe center, Australia Walkabout, the elephant and rhino barn and the hippo building, with giraffe and budgie feeding available for an extra fee. Santa takes wishes and photos in the Safari Lodge, hot cocoa stations dot the paths, and the Sky Ride and carousel run into the evening.

Our take: Pick a non-peak night for a cheaper ticket, and get in line for the Sky Ride before it closes for the evening.
