About this event
Dome for the Holidays promises all the glow without the snow, filling the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden's tropical conservatory and Gardeners Show House with thousands of twinkling lights. Artful displays mix with tropical plants and holiday amaryllis, and visitors find playful interactive elements, a gnome hunt and seasonal concessions from Flora. Most guests spend 45 to 70 minutes inside; some displays use moving or flashing lights, but there is no strobe lighting.
Our take: Buy timed tickets ahead: the Garden strongly encourages it, and it can't guarantee availability at the door.
Parking
Free parking at the Garden, but spaces are limited; during large events, use overflow parking along Robert D. Ray Drive. Adults $18, youth 1–13 $13, under 1 free; members $3 off. Tickets are non-refundable. No pets (service animals allowed).
