About this event
Downtown Farmers' Market fills the Historic Court District in downtown Des Moines with fresh produce, flowers, meat, baked goods, and plants. Each Saturday has its own programming and a different vendor lineup; some stands are there every week and others only on certain Saturdays. Musicians and entertainers are spread through the streets. Streets are closed to vehicle traffic while the market is on. A bike valet is in the Terrus Parking Ramp at Second Street and Court Avenue, and the Market Resource Tent at 3rd Street and Court Avenue answers questions about vendors and locations.
Our take: Bring a reusable bag or rent a wagon at the Market Resource Tent, and use the bike valet in the Terrus ramp if you ride.
Parking
Streets closed to vehicle traffic from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. (6 a.m. to 1 p.m. in October). Bike valet in the Terrus Parking Ramp at Second Street and Court Avenue.
Good to know
Open rain or shine. Pets discouraged; if brought, short leash (maximum three feet), kept away from produce and prepared food. Service animals permitted.
