About this event
Christmas on the Pecos is a beloved Carlsbad tradition of dazzling riverfront lights, seen from the water aboard the boats Rudolph and Noelle or the private Pecos Diamond, or on a 30-minute ride on the Pecos Express holiday train. Both the boats and the train are accessible. Before departure, the Pecos River Christmas Village sells crafts, drinks and food, along with Christmas on the Pecos blankets, hoodies and beanies. It is an evening outdoor water event and the air is chilly, so jackets, gloves and layers are recommended.
Our take: Book weekend nights and weeknights in the final two weeks of the season early; the organizers say those tickets always sell out fast.
Parking
Parking on both the east and west sides of the river at Pecos River Village, 711 Muscatel Avenue; follow event signs. Life vests are provided and required for children 12 and under. No restrooms aboard the boats. Service animals only.
