Nights of Lights

Nights of Lights is the City of St. Augustine's holiday display, roughly 3 million white lights draped across the historic downtown. It's a walking event, best enjoyed by strolling the Old World streets, though horse-drawn carriages and holiday tour vehicles also roll through. The season opens with Light-Up! Night, when live music on the Plaza de la Constitución leads to a lighting ceremony at the gazebo that sets the whole city aglow.

Our take: Go Monday through Thursday, which the city recommends for a slower pace, shorter restaurant waits and easier parking.
