Christmas Markets 2026: Holiday, Craft and Art Markets

Christmas markets fill town squares, plazas, fairgrounds and church halls with vendor stalls, hot food and handmade gifts. Some follow the German Christkindlmarkt tradition, with wooden huts, mulled drinks and glass ornaments, and stay open for weeks. Others are one-weekend holiday craft fairs and art markets where local makers sell pottery, jewelry, woodwork, candles and baked goods.

Open days vary widely. A big city market may run daily through Christmas Eve, while a school or church bazaar may be a single Saturday morning. Before you go, look up the hours, any entry fee or timed ticket, and where to park, because downtown lots fill quickly on December weekends.

A practical tip: bring a sturdy tote bag and some small bills. Not every small vendor takes cards, and lines move faster when you can pay in cash.

Dates can change, so check the event’s website before you go.
