About this event
The European Christmas Market recreates a traditional Advent market on the East Plaza of Union Depot in downtown Saint Paul, celebrating the Germanic and Scandinavian roots of Minnesota and the Upper Midwest. More than 80 vendors fill the booths with handcrafted gifts and European finds, food stalls serve cozy European comfort food, and the air smells of roasted nuts and Glühwein. Families can head to the Kid Zone for games, crafts and stories, and visitors can learn about European customs such as the tradition of Krampus.
Our take: Stay late on a Friday or Saturday, when the "After Hours" last call keeps the heated warming tents open an extra hour.
Parking
Union Depot lots C & D (392 E Kellogg Blvd) are closest, $10–$14 event rate; Metro Transit and rideshare also work.
