Washington, DC Events 2026–27

Washington mixes national events with small neighborhood ones. In October you can catch the Turkish Festival, Boo at the Zoo and a costume carnival. In November the National Veterans Parade marches on the 8th, and the Fuego Flamenco Festival runs for most of the month.

Holiday season starts early here. The Dupont Circle and DowntownDC holiday markets open in mid-November. ZooLights at the National Zoo and Holidays at Hillwood follow, and the National Christmas Tree Lighting is December 3. Many of these spots are close to Metro stations, which is easier than parking.
