About this event
SOME's Trot for Hunger calls itself D.C.'s largest and only Turkey Trot, drawing thousands of neighbors to Freedom Plaza on Thanksgiving morning for a timed 5K, the Little Turkey 1-Miler and a family-friendly finisher festival. Money raised supports SOME's work providing meals, housing, healthcare and job training for neighbors most in need. Pets can enter the Best Dressed 'Turkey' costume competition, and anyone out of town can run the virtual 5K from their own neighborhood or local park.
Our take: Carry water if you need it, since there's no water stop on the course, only bottled water at the finish line.

Bib pickup 6:30am; Little Turkey 1-Miler 7:30am; 5K 8:15am (start line closes 8:45am); awards 9am; pet costume competition 9:30am. Online registration only.
