November in Ohio moves quickly from Halloween weekend to Veterans Day parades, then to holiday craft markets, parades of lights, a Thanksgiving Day race and the first big light shows of the season. You’ll find the Grave Rave at Sawyer Point in Cincinnati, Veterans Day parades in Delaware, Zanesville and Findlay, the Veterans March and Ceremony in Canal Winchester, the Germania Society Christkindlmarkt, holiday markets in Sharonville, Cincinnati and Columbus, the Columbus ChristmasFair, the Fairfield Parade of Lights, Liberty Center Lights Up, the Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day Race, and light shows that run all season at the Cincinnati Zoo, the Columbus Zoo, downtown Columbus and Kings Island. Each one links to its listing page and to the event’s own website.

Running all season

These holiday listings open in November and run into December or January, so they are not tied to one weekend. The dates show the full season, so check the organizer’s page for which nights they are open.

Planning by area

Most of this month’s Ohio listings sit around Cincinnati and Columbus, so it can help to plan by area as well as by weekend.

Cincinnati and southwest Ohio. In Cincinnati there’s the Grave Rave at Sawyer Point (October 30), the Germania Society Christkindlmarkt (November 6–8), the Greater Cincinnati Holiday Market (November 20–22), the Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day Race (November 26), the Crafty Supermarket Holiday Show (November 28) and the PNC Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo, which opens November 19. Close by are the Sharonville Holiday Market (November 6–8), the Fairfield Parade of Lights and Liberty Center Lights Up in Liberty Township (both November 21), and Kings Island WinterFest in Mason, which opens November 27.

Columbus and central Ohio. The Delaware Veterans Parade is November 1, and the Canal Winchester Veterans March and Ceremony is November 7. In Columbus, the Ohio Made Holiday Market runs November 20–21 and the Columbus ChristmasFair runs November 21–22. Wanderlights downtown and Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo in Powell both open November 20, so that weekend works well for a market in the day and lights after dark.

Elsewhere in Ohio. The Zanesville Veterans Day Parade is November 7, and the Findlay Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony is November 8.

None of the dated events in this guide fall on the weekend of November 13–15. If you know an Ohio event that weekend, you can submit a listing.

Before you go: a short checklist

  • Open the official site the week you go. Each listing page links to the event’s website. Organizers post hours and updates there.
  • Check the day you plan to go. Several events here run two days. Our listings show the full dates, so check the organizer’s page for each day’s plans.
  • Add it to your calendar. Every listing in this guide has an “Add to calendar (.ics)” link and a map link.
