About this event
A joint effort of the city and county, the Delaware Veterans Parade fills downtown Delaware with more than 1,600 participants, which organizers say makes it Ohio's largest veterans parade. It's open to all veterans, active-duty troops, reservists, military families, ROTC groups and veteran-owned businesses, and the lineup mixes marching bands, honor guards, floats, classic cars and motorcycles. Beforehand, a Veterans Social and Expo in the Jr. Fair Building at the Delaware County Fairgrounds offers a light lunch, music and time to visit. The parade goes on rain or shine.
Our take: Stop by the social first, since it wraps up shortly before step-off, then head downtown early to claim a curbside spot.
