State Fairs 2026
State fair season in the South runs well into fall. The State Fair of Texas in Dallas goes to October 18, and the Arizona State Fair runs all of October. Mid-October brings the North Carolina, South Carolina and Arkansas state fairs, plus the Georgia/Carolina State Fair in Augusta.
Louisiana has two late ones: the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair and the State Fair of Louisiana in Shreveport, which goes to mid-November. The Greater Gulf State Fair in Mobile is one of the last of the year. A few fairgrounds also host winter markets, like the Alaska and Minnesota ones.

Some states have more than one big fair with “State Fair” in the name. Each one gets its own listing.

Many Midwestern and northern fairs open in August and wrap up by early September. Southern and Southwestern fairs often run into October and November. Fairs drop off this page once they end.
