About this event
A Candy Cane Celebration is a family holiday party on the grounds and in the Mule Barn of historic Destrehan Plantation, offered in two sessions. Kids can make and take holiday crafts, play reindeer games, join a candy cane hunt and elf bingo, enter a coloring contest, hear Mrs. Claus tell stories and visit Santa under the old oak tree, with special costumed guests at each party. Proceeds benefit the River Road Historical Society, which has worked since 1968 to preserve Destrehan and other historic buildings along Louisiana's River Road.
Our take: Save room for the Sweet Shop's homemade cakes, cookies and candies alongside the free cocoa and punch.

Two sessions: 10am–noon and 1–3pm. Tickets are sold online only, capped at 350 per session; adults $25, children $20, two and under free.
