About this event
The Krewe of Argus rolls on Mardi Gras Day along the Metairie route and opens a day-long procession of parades. The curb has a family picnic feel, with people stretching for beads and stooping for doubloons among friends and family. After Argus, hundreds of trucks follow in the Elks Krewe of Jeffersonians truck parade. For many locals the day ranks as the favorite family holiday of the year.
Our take: Treat the Metairie route like a family picnic and stay after Argus if you want the Elks Krewe of Jeffersonians truck parade that follows.
