About this event
Family Christmas at Living History Farms offers old-fashioned holiday fun with the sounds, sights and smells of a 19th-century Christmas at the open-air museum in Urbandale. Families can make crafts, sing carols, hear stories, decorate cookies and play parlor games, and visit the historic Flynn Mansion, Print Shop, Drug Store, Church of the Land, Implement Dealer and Tangen Home. Kids can try a jingle bell toss and a "snowball" fight in the Flynn Barn, and there are photos with Santa.
Our take: Bundle up for the horse-drawn wagon rides, which run weather permitting; the historic buildings are heated.
Parking
Advance tickets $12 ($11 members); at the door $13 ($12 members); under 2 free.
