About this event
The Living History Farms Race sends runners 5 miles through 300 years of history, across the museum's three historic farm sites in Urbandale. The course starts and ends in the 1876 town of Walnut Hill, and runners splash through streams, plow through fields and follow woodland trails, waving to the horses, cows, sheep and pigs along the way. The race celebrates America 250 with a tribute to veterans and a patriotic costume contest, every finisher gets a shirt and a cowbell medal, and a free kids' run follows.
