About this event
Flag Pole Hill, just north of White Rock Lake, holds Dallas's premier Oktoberfest, a family-friendly day that has drawn Dallas-Fort Worth crowds since it began in 2011. German-style bites run from brats and pizza to ice cream, with hefeweizen and kolsch among the beers, and the aim is something for every age. Festival Hall adds shaded seating, local craft beer, screens for the big game, and live music ahead of the main stage. A keg tapping and stein holding contest sit mid-day, and a kid zone runs beside the grounds. The Exchange Club of Lake Highlands uses the weekend to support scholarships, local police and fire departments, area schools, and nonprofits such as Family Compass.
Our take: Grab a shaded seat in Festival Hall before the keg tapping and stein holding contest.
