About this event

The Greek Food Festival of Dallas at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church grew from a modest ladies' bazaar in 1955 into a Dallas-Fort Worth tradition. Visitors can take in the sanctuary's iconography, church tours, a lecture on Byzantine chanting, a religious bookstore in the Agora, and a cultural center on the history of Greece. The kitchen serves gyro, loukoumades, feta bites, souvlaki, Greek fries, pastitsio, a Greek lamb bowl, and Greek pizza. The Taverna pours Greek wine and beer and serves Greek coffee or a frappe. Philoptochos women make the pastries, sold in the courtyard or packed to go, and the Agora stocks groceries, jewelry, and imports plus cooking demos in the yiayia style.

Our take: Eat loukoumades and a gyro, then make time for a church tour or the Byzantine chanting lecture before the pastries in the courtyard.
