About this event
The Zilker Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony switches on Austin's 155-foot holiday tree on the south side of Zilker Park, with pre-event music by the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble, local entertainment, food and live music. The tree is built from 39 streamers holding 3,309 multicolored LED bulbs around the park's Moonlight Tower, topped by a 10-foot double star, and its spiral pattern was created by City of Austin electricians. Austin-area youth artists compete in an art contest for the privilege of lighting it.
