About this event
Founded in 1907, the New Orleans Athletic Club Turkey Day Race is billed as the 5th oldest continuous race in the United States. It begins and ends at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans City Park, with a 5-mile run/walk and a kids' half-mile open to ages 12 and under. Families from across the country treat it as a holiday tradition, with several generations returning each year. The New Orleans Track Club produces the race with its members and volunteers.
Our take: Bring the kids for the half-mile, then watch the 5-mile runners finish back inside Tad Gormley Stadium.
