About this event
The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus is New Orleans' sci-fi Mardi Gras parade, built on a simple formula: Bacchanalian revelry plus sci-fi. Its open, low-cost membership draws Star Wars fans, Trekkies, Whovians, gamers, cosplayers and mad scientists into well over a hundred subkrewes, who roll homemade contraptions instead of floats and hand out signature throws like bandoliers and pocket shrines. The krewe aims to be a leave-no-trace parade, and the parade's theme is the Year of the Golden Wookiee.
