About this event
Founded in New Orleans in 2016, the National Fried Chicken Festival presented by Raising Cane's was built on bringing people together through a shared love of food, music and culture. Award-winning chefs and top restaurants serve their takes on the iconic Southern dish, while musicians play across multiple stages and families find plenty to do. The festival sets up at the UNO Lakefront Arena Festival Grounds and includes a Locals Day celebrating Louisiana music, community and culture. USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards named it the 6th best specialty food festival in 2024.
Our take: Not everything is fried chicken: the menu also covers vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten-free options.
Parking
Paid parking at the Lakefront Arena and along Lakeshore Drive, with a free shuttle from the Lakeshore lot; parking can be pre-bought as a ticket add-on. Rideshare drop-off at the Orleans Levee District lot, 6920 Franklin Ave.
Good to know
Gates 3–9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; gates close an hour before the festival ends. Cashless. Kids 12 and under free with a ticketed adult (two per adult).
