About this event
The Krewe of Okeanos, founded in 1949 and named for the Greek god of oceans and fertile valleys, rolls on Sunday morning with more than 300 riders known for elaborately costumed captains and kings. The route starts at Jefferson Avenue and Magazine Street, heads to Napoleon Avenue and St. Charles Avenue, around Harmony Circle and up to Canal Street, then ends on Tchoupitoulas at Poydras. Riders throw thousands of beads, doubloons and trinkets, and the prize catch is the coveted Okeanos crawfish tray.
