About this event
America's Harvest Festival transforms the Iowa State Capitol Grounds in Des Moines into a free, family-friendly celebration of history, agriculture, and community. Hands-on exhibits and festive entertainment spotlight the people, traditions, and ideas that have shaped Iowa, with a special focus on the state's farming story as America marks 250 years. Education stations for kids, crop and livestock displays, and high-tech ag innovations share the Capitol lawn.
Our take: Pair the Capitol grounds afternoon with a stop at the Downtown Des Moines Farmers' Market if you want more Iowa food and produce the same weekend stretch.
