About this event

The Columbia City Farmers Market has sold in South Seattle since 1998, in the center of one of the most diverse zip codes in the country. In 2000, Karen Kinney and grassroots volunteers in Columbia City merged with organizers of the University District and West Seattle Farmers Markets to form the nonprofit Neighborhood Farmers Markets. Offerings are as varied as the regulars, including fresh-picked Asian greens and Ethiopian fare, and the footprint takes in Columbia Park for a picnic. The Columbia City Link Light Rail Station is one block away, which suits Wednesday evening commuters. Extra produce can be dropped at the Manager's Tent for local food banks under Buy Some / Share Some.

Our take: Ride the Columbia City Link station one block away, then leave an extra bundle of produce at the Manager's Tent for the food bank if you are buying anyway.

Parking

Zoned 2-hour street parking around the market; non-zoned parking 3 blocks west and 3 blocks south. One handicap spot near the west end, from 35th and S Edmunds. Bike racks at the east end; do not ride through the market. Buses 7, 9, 39, 42, and 48; Link station one block away.
