About this event
The King George Fall Festival has been a community event for more than 60 years, planned and run entirely by volunteers from local organizations and businesses. The day brings a parade down Route 3 through the old courthouse area, a fair with rides and a petting zoo at King George High School, a craft show, food vendors, a car show and pageants. Food runs from pickles, bagels and hot dogs to fried seafood, BBQ sandwiches, funnel cakes, fried Oreos and strawberry shortcake.
Our take: Catch the parade, which starts at 11 a.m. at the old courthouse; the road closes around 10:30 a.m.
Parking
Park at King George Middle School or the back of King George High School; a shuttle runs from the high school through the parade route and back.
Good to know
10 a.m.–4 p.m. at King George High School. Held rain or shine.
