About this event
The Buda Arts Festival, created by Inspired Minds Art Center and first known as the Buda Plein Air Festival, has grown from a one-day painting and music event into a six-day celebration of the arts. The week brings live outdoor plein air art competitions, busking musicians, art demonstrations, artisan markets, gallery exhibits, artist meet-ups, kids' activities, film and live theatre. Highlights include the Buda AF Poetry Slam, where twelve poets compete over three rounds of original spoken word, an evening of film and animation, and improv at The Chambers Theatre.
Our take: Come Saturday morning for the Quick Draw, when over 30 artists create artwork live outside on Main Street from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Good to know
Most events are free; ticketed events are marked on the festival schedule. Saturday artisan markets 9 a.m.–5 p.m. at the Buda Welcome Center, 303 Main St.
