About this event
The Great Pumpkin Carve is a Chadds Ford Historical Society fundraiser where local artists carve and light more than 70 giant pumpkins—some weighing up to 400 pounds—in a meadow tradition that began in the early 1970s and settled behind the society in 1992. Evenings add a haunted display, raffle prizes, and live music from Kenny Thompson & Friends, the event’s longtime house band. Food vendors and local craft beer and wine round out the outdoor patch. Wear sturdy shoes for the grassy meadow, and leave pets at home—only service dogs are welcome.
Our take: Go at dusk so you see carvers finishing daylight work and then catch the pumpkins fully lit after dark.
