About this event

The Holland Farmers Market officially opened in 1979 with a handful of local farmers selling produce from folding tables in the Civic Center parking lot, and it still sets up beside the Holland Civic Center downtown. Its roots go back further: Holland set aside land for a market square in 1847, and farmers' Market Days began in the 1850s. Today it runs Wednesdays and Saturdays, offers free guided field trips for school groups and takes Bridge Cards.

Our take: Parking is free in the market lot and at the 9th Street deck across the street, so don't circle downtown.

Parking

Free parking in the market lot, at the 9th Street Parking Deck and in all public downtown lots; no overnight parking.

Good to know

Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8 a.m.–2 p.m.; shorter fall hours follow. Dogs are prohibited by city ordinance (service dogs allowed). Cash is most widely accepted; an ATM is inside the Civic Center.
