About this event

The National Center of Afro-American Artists presents Langston Hughes' Black Nativity, a gospel song cycle that tells the Nativity story through the lens of the African American experience. Boston's production is the longest-running staging of the musical in the world, offered each year as a gift to people of good will from every spiritual tradition through gospel music, dance, African drumming, spoken word and theater. Performances run about an hour and a half on the Robert J. Orchard Stage at the Emerson Paramount Center on Washington Street, with select ASL-interpreted shows.

Our take: If you need an interpreter, book one of the ASL-interpreted performances, which are spread across the run.
