About this event
Paducah's Veterans Day celebration, organized by the city's Parks & Recreation Department, begins with a Sunrise Reveille at the Vietnam Veterans Monument in Dolly McNutt Memorial Plaza, a short ceremony with the playing of Reveille and the raising of the flag at sunrise. The Veterans Day Opening Ceremony follows at the plaza, and then the parade sets off from 6th and Washington Streets, traveling along 6th Street, turning right on Broadway toward the riverfront and disbanding at Water and Jefferson streets.
Our take: Early risers can start with the Sunrise Reveille at about 6:15 a.m., when coffee and donuts follow the flag raising.
