About this event
Manhattan's Festival of Lights began in 2013 at Blue Earth Plaza, run by the volunteer group Whoville. The displays are meant to bring the community together and stay up through the holiday season. Opening night pairs an aerial drone show with the tree lighting, plus Santa, hot chocolate and cookies, and a fire to sit by. Lights then run nightly through the first week of January, switching on at dusk.
Our take: Arrive early for the aerial drone show, which the organizers say starts sharp before the tree lighting.
