About this event
Día de Muertos On Central Avenue fills the street outside 1120 Central Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, with a celebration of the Mexican holiday that honors family and friends who have died. Ofrendas, calaveras and Aztec marigolds are part of the tradition, and the day brings food, art, a car show, live entertainment and walking Catrinas before an evening parade. It runs from midday into the night, so you can come for the food and art or stay for the procession after dark.
Our take: Arrive by mid-afternoon to see the Catrinas, then claim a curb spot before the parade starts in the evening.
