About this event
Frontiers in Flight is an open house and air show at McConnell Air Force Base. The base invites the public onto the flightline for aerial demonstrations, static aircraft, and time with Airmen who serve there. Civilian performers join the military acts, and a Family Zone adds inflatables, amusement rides, and hands-on activities for children. The Friday before is a DoD-cardholder preview at Hangar 1126 with live music and food trucks. Show-day shuttles run between the flightline and the Manhattan Street and Wichita Street pedestrian bridge.
Our take: Take the shuttle from the Manhattan Street and Wichita Street bridge, and send kids to the Family Zone between flying acts.
Parking
Saturday and Sunday shuttle 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. between the Manhattan St./Wichita St. pedestrian bridge and the flightline. Friday shuttle 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. between the Dole Center and the flightline, DoD cardholders only.
Good to know
Friday flightline preview opens 1:30 p.m., concert at 5 p.m., DoD cardholders only.
