About this event

Walters Pumpkinfest on a farm outside Burns, Kansas, is built around a corn maze, a U-pick patch, and a long list of included games, from a singing John Deere tractor and a family-size chair to a corn bin with a slide into an old grain truck. What the farm calls the largest tree house in Kansas, an underground Mtn Boo slide, and a zombie power tower with 10 climbing layers sit on the grounds, along with weekend duck races, a pumpkin cannon, and Daryl the Dragon. The Pumpkin Pantry gift shop stocks more than 100 pumpkin varieties plus pumpkin salsa, pumpkin chili, and pumpkin-shaped sugar cookies. Witches' Brew is the house cider.

Our take: Leave time for the Kansas tree house and the pantry, and try the pumpkin-shaped sugar cookies and Witches' Brew cider.

No pets or outside food and drinks. Tailgating is permitted in the parking lot.

Good to know
