About this event
Griffin MSI's Christmas Around the World began in 1942 as a single tree representing unity during World War II. It has grown into an indoor forest of more than 50 trees and displays, each decorated by community volunteers drawing on their own family and cultural heritage, with displays for celebrations of light such as Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Diwali placed among them. The Tree Lighting and Cultural Festival kicks off the exhibit's season with live performances and the lighting of the 40-foot Grand Tree, the museum's favorite spot for a family photo.
Our take: Make a day of it: arrive early and pair the trees with the museum's WWII submarine and towering tornado before the lighting.
