About this event
Christmas Tree Lane, on Santa Rosa Avenue in Altadena between Woodbury Avenue and Altadena Drive, is billed as the oldest large-scale outdoor Christmas lighting display in the United States. For over 100 years the Christmas Tree Lane Association has lit the deodar cedars, known as the Mile of Christmas Trees, with over 20,000 lights. The season opens with the Lighting Ceremony and Winterfest, a family event with live entertainment, local artisans, food vendors, community booths, and holiday activities.
Our take: The mile of deodar cedars is the reason to go; treat Winterfest's artisans and food vendors as the add-on once you are on Santa Rosa Avenue.
