About this event
The Hollywood Christmas Parade dates to 1928 and has been a fixture of the entertainment industry ever since, drawing stars such as Gene Autry, Jimmy Stewart and Mary Pickford and still featuring today's biggest names. Floats, balloons, marching bands and performers fill the route, and the parade collects toys and donations for the U.S. Marines' Toys for Tots program. Curbside viewing is open along most of the route, with reserved grandstand seats sold separately.
Our take: Skip the parking hunt and take the Metro Red Line to Hollywood/Vine or Hollywood/Highland, both of which put you right on the parade route.
Parking
Hollywood/Highland and other public lots charge for parking; watch for parade-day no-parking postings.
