About this event
The Pasadena Doo Dah Parade began in 1978 among the regulars at Chromo's Bar and Grill as the deliberate opposite of the Rose Parade: no theme, no judging, no prizes, and anyone can march. Decades of eccentric, often irreverent satire followed, Reader's Digest named it "America's Best Parade," and it has inspired copycats nationwide. Pasadena nonprofit Light Bringer Project took over in 1995, and after years in East Pasadena the parade returned to Old Pasadena in 2023. It goes on rain or shine.
Our take: Get to the route early for a curb spot, bring water and snacks, and buy a T-shirt along the route to help fund the weirdness and young artists.
