About this event

Downtown Huntsville's Christmas parade, put on with the Von Braun Center and Mix 96.9, is a nighttime parade with more than 80 floats, animals and marching bands. It steps off on Monroe Street at Holmes Avenue, heads south through downtown and ends near AM Booth's Lumberyard. A panel of three community judges scores the floats on creativity, execution and theme, which keeps the entries competitive. The parade is free to watch, and a Pre-Parade Party and VIP Viewing Area are open to people who donate an item to the parade's chosen charity ahead of time.

Our take: Apart from the VIP area there are no set viewing spots, so get to Monroe Street early, then walk over to Tinsel Trail in Big Spring Park after the last float.
