About this event
ChiliFest is the West Virginia State Chili Championship, sanctioned by the International Chili Society, and it benefits the Ronald McDonald House of Huntington. Cooks from the East Coast and the Midwest compete in traditional red chili, chili verde, and homestyle, while local groups go after People's Choice. Music and a family-friendly crowd fill closed blocks of 3rd Avenue, from 8th Street to 10th Street, in downtown Huntington. Sample the competition chili, and use the drink stations if you do not bring your own.
Our take: Taste red, verde, and homestyle before you settle on a People's Choice favorite.
Parking
Parking is in Pullman Square and at meters downtown. Streets are closed on 3rd Avenue from 8th Street to 10th Street. Pets allowed on a leash.
