About this event
The Charleston Christmas Parade is one of West Virginia's capital city's favorite holiday traditions, an evening procession through downtown that draws thousands of residents and guests. Recent parades have featured more than 125 entries, from marching bands and dance troupes to first responders, local businesses and civic groups, and have followed a loop from Kanawha Boulevard up Capitol Street and along Washington and Summers Streets. The city shares the route, lineup and street closures closer to parade night.
Our take: Plan for downtown street closures that start well before step-off, and bring a thermos for the evening wait on the sidewalk.
