About this event
The Downtown Rutland Partnership lights the city's holiday tree in Depot Park with a short, traditional ceremony that marks the start of the season downtown. Festive activities warm up the crowd until Santa rolls in on a Rutland fire truck to help flip the switch. Volunteers hand out hundreds of holiday light specs and candy canes, and the city's parks crew, foresters and public works team make the tree possible.
Our take: Grab a pair of the holiday light specs from a volunteer and look at the freshly lit tree through them.
