Haunted Gaines Farm

Gaines Farm is a bicentennial farm in Guilford, just north of the Massachusetts line, in the same family and on the same ground for over 200 years. The family farms 200 acres of crops, pasture, maple bush, and woods, growing hay and corn for cows and calves. Fall adds a corn maze of 7 acres of ten-foot stalks, plus games and carnival-style maze food. The Halloween double bill is a haunted hayride and a haunted maze. A corn cannon, supervised, pays a prize if a kernel clears a tractor tire. Early Saturday evenings add a non-scary twilight maze walk.

Our take: Come by day for the corn maze and the corn cannon, and save a Friday or Saturday night for the haunted hayride, which ends for the season on October 30.
